Rother’s Neurodivergent Hub Bexhill, East Sussex

We are taking on a lease for a space in Egerton Park, Bexhill, which will soon become Rother’s Neurodivergent Hub. The building, owned by Rother District Council offers three rooms, two WCs a kitchen and a wonderful outdoor area - the site of a former bowls green.

The Hub will provide a welcoming, shared space for organisations and professionals supporting the neurodivergent community. The Hub will feature a large enclosed outdoor area with both a nature-based provision and a sports space alongside flexible indoor rooms equipped with sensory resources. These spaces are being designed to host a wide range of groups, ages, activities, and events, offering families a supportive environment to connect and thrive.

This project will directly benefit neurodivergent people of all ages and their families. At present, support is often fragmented, requiring families to access multiple services in different locations. This can be particularly challenging for those who face anxiety, sensory sensitivities, or difficulties adapting to new environments.

By creating an accessible hub, we will remove many of these barriers. Families will be able to access a range of provisions in one safe, consistent space. Services include play groups, occupational therapies, counselling, youth groups and outdoor wellbeing opportunities.

The Hub also creates new opportunities for much needed after school, weekend and holiday provision for neurodivergent children which is currently very limited.

The Hub will enable us to expand our own service delivery while hosting a network of trusted organisations- ensuring that support is coordinated and easier to engage with. This joined up approach will improve access, strengthen continuity of care and reduce isolation. This will create a sustainable community resource that empowers neurodivergent people and their families who are often excluded from typical settings.

We want to ensure that cost isn’t a barrier to people accessing support and by offering an accessible, low cost community space we hope that these savings will be passed on to families.
